Read Across America Week-Day Five

Friday was our last day of our week long celebration for Read Across America. The students wore green for The Grinch but we celebrated the day with Green Eggs and Ham since it's not December and The Grinch relates to Christmas.

I made green eggs and ham at 6AM before leaving for work. I used two dozen eggs), deli meat, and food coloring (all from Ralphs). I bought the green shamrock cupcake papers from Michael's Arts and Crafts.

Students wear these glasses ($1 from Target) to reread books! I bought them last Spring and popped the lenses out just to make them fun! The kids love to reread books just so they can wear these special glasses! Too cute! :)

We began our day coloring and cutting out a place mat for our taste testing of green eggs and ham. After taste-testing, we graphed the results! We had 14 students who liked the green eggs and ham and one that did not. Later in the day we read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss and watched the 20 minute video. Before leaving to go home, we made a Tic-Tac-Toe game board and played with a partner! It was a great ending to our wonderful week!
